Les Bornées Mindset

Who is the Les Bornées community for?

For everyone. Beginners who haven't dared to start yet, regular cyclists who want to ride in a group, triathletes looking for motivation, curious people who just want to try. No matter your level, you belong here.

Are men welcome?

Of course. Les Bornées is a mixed community: our trips, outings, and shop are for everyone. What brings us together is not gender, but the desire to progress together and to promote diversity in sports.

Do you have to be a top performer to join us?

Not at all. At Les Bornées, we're talking about progress, not perfection. Everyone moves at their own pace: the important thing is to enjoy yourself and share.

Is it more of a serious or a friendly atmosphere?

Friendly, authentic, and motivating. We encourage each other, we laugh, we push our limits without pressure: "I improve because I am supported."

What is the participant profile?

The peloton ranges in age from twenties to sixties, with a large core group of 30- to 45-year-old athletes who juggle work, family, and training. All levels coexist: that's the principle of level-based groups.

I don't know anyone, will I fit in?

This is the case for most members at the start! Between WhatsApp groups, outings, and shared meals, you'll never be alone. Many leave with training buddies for the year.

How can I participate in group outings?

Our outings are organized on the Smatchy app (smatchy.app): they are free and open to everyone. Join the "Les Bornées" group to see upcoming dates and sign up in two clicks.

What's my "peloton profile"?

Answer the quiz on the homepage (2 minutes max): we'll look at your playground, your mindset, and your ideal format to reveal your profile (Sprinter, Climber, Puncher, Breakaway Rider, Road Captain, or Champion) and recommend the stays tailored for you.

Choosing your trip

What's the difference between a camp, a weekend, and an "Échappée"?

The weekend trip (2-3 days) is a short, sporty getaway, perfect for discovery. The camp (4-7 days) is a true all-inclusive training week. The Échappée trips are our exceptional, small-group formats, often co-created with a partner (such as the ski touring weekend with Basalte).

Which course should I choose based on my level?

Each trip description shows the recommended level and the day-by-day itinerary. When in doubt, message us on WhatsApp: we’ll tell you frankly if it’s right for you, and if not, we’ll suggest a format that suits you better.

Are the outings suitable for beginners?

Yes! Ability-based groups allow everyone to feel comfortable, progress without stress, and enjoy themselves right from the first outing.

I'm getting back into exercise after a break, is this suitable?

Absolutely. Our trips are designed to help you get back into it gradually and without pressure: you progress at your own pace, with a group and coaches who recommend which sessions to do and at what intensity.

I don't do all three triathlon sports, is that a problem?

Not at all. During swimming, HIIT sessions are offered in parallel. For cycling or running, it's à la carte: you can also stay and enjoy the facilities. Nothing is compulsory, we adapt to your desires and your level.

Is there a limited number of spots?

Yes, groups are deliberately limited to ensure the quality of the experience and supervision. The trip descriptions show the remaining places per room: when it says "only 2 beds left," these are the actual figures.

The trip is fully booked: how can I be notified if a spot becomes available?

Write to us from the trip's page: we keep a waiting list and will notify you as a priority as soon as a spot becomes available.

How does pre-registration work when the dates haven't been announced yet?

Some trips open in preview, like the ski touring weekend: you leave your first name, email, and skill level, without payment or commitment. When the dates are announced, pre-registered participants are notified before everyone else and choose their spot first.

What does "X people interested" mean on a trip listing?

This is the actual number of people who have favorited this trip. With limited spots available, it gives you an honest idea of the demand for that date.

Before leaving

How should I prepare physically?

No need to arrive in peak physical condition: regular practice in the weeks leading up to the trip is sufficient. Depending on the trip, we'll send you preparation recommendations, and on-site coaches will adjust each session to your actual level.

Where can I find the detailed itinerary for my stay?

On the trip details page (day-by-day program) and, once registered, in your My Trips area. You will also receive a comprehensive practical email before departure.

What equipment should I bring?

What you need to ride comfortably: a road bike in good condition (serviced and maintained), a helmet (mandatory), appropriate clothing, your water bottles, and your nutrition. Each participant is responsible for their own equipment. A complete checklist tailored to your trip will be sent to you before departure.

Can I rent a bike or equipment on site?

We don't manage rentals directly: everyone arranges their own if needed. However, we're happy to do some research for you and share our recommendations for rental companies based on the destination: just ask us.

Do I need a medical certificate or a license?

No license or certificate is required: by participating, you declare that you have no known medical contraindications and you remain the judge of your abilities. We strongly recommend suitable personal insurance (civil liability and individual accident) and, if you are resuming after a long break, medical advice. A waiver must be signed in your area before departure.

How do I complete my participant form?

In your My Stays area: allergies, diet, emergency contact, sizes... Two minutes that allow the manager and coaches to prepare everything for you even before your arrival.

Are allergies and intolerances catered for?

Yes. You list them on your participant form and the chef will adjust the meals accordingly. Please also inform us of any specific dietary requirements (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.): nobody eats sadly here.

How does the WhatsApp group for the trip work?

About 15 days before departure, you will receive an invitation to the trip group: introductions, carpooling, last-minute questions and practical information live. This is also where the atmosphere begins.

How do I get there? Shuttle, parking?

Depending on the trip, a paid shuttle service is available from the nearest train station: it also transports your bike and equipment. The terms (location, times, price) and parking information are specified on each trip details page.

What time to arrive on the first day and leave on the last?

The exact times appear in your My Stays area as soon as you book and are reminded in the practical email before departure.

During the stay

What's a typical day like?

Full breakfast, first session in the morning, real lunch, second activity or recovery in the afternoon, snack, briefing for the next day, and dinner all together. And in the evening, after dinner, a lecture or activity is offered to gently extend the day. All adjusted to your level and your energy of the day.

Is it mandatory to do all activities?

No. You are free to adapt according to your energy and desires. We encourage you to participate, but you should listen to your body.

How are the ability groups formed?

Based on your profile and an easy first ride on the first day. Then, we adjust freely throughout the stay: groups are a tool for enjoyment, not rigid categories.

What happens if I can't keep up?

You'll never be left alone. Level-based groups and adaptations allow everyone to progress at their own pace: the goal isn't performance, it's for you to progress with a smile.

Who supervises? Are the coaches certified?

Yes: certified coaches, and depending on the trips, a nurse, chef, videographer… With us, there are no volunteers: everyone is paid fairly, and that shows in the quality.

Is there personalized advice available?

Yes. The supervisors advise you on technique, effort management, and your progress, always with kindness and simplicity.

Are meals included?

Yes: in the all-inclusive package, all meals are included (breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner), designed to support your efforts and recovery without you having to worry about them.

Single or shared rooms?

Most of the time, rooms are shared for a more convivial experience. Individual rooms may be available depending on availability (optional). Details are displayed when you choose your spot.

I'm coming as a couple or with a friend: can you put us together?

Of course: just let us know when you book or in your profile, and we'll put you in the same room. During the day, everyone rides in their own skill group: we'll meet up for a snack to catch up.

Can I bring my family?

Yes, thanks to our family rooms available upon request. The rate adjusts depending on whether your spouse practices or not, and according to the age of the children. Please note: stays are reserved for adults; a minor is only admitted if accompanied by their parent present on site, under their direct and permanent responsibility.

Can I come alone?

Of course, that's how many people start. You arrive alone, you leave with a close-knit team.

What happens in case of injury or problem on site?

The supervisors are there to react quickly: we adapt the practice and we support you, your safety always comes first. You remain responsible for your civil, bodily, and property damage liability insurance: the team calls upon the relevant professionals in case of an accident but does not bear the responsibility.

Book & pay

How do I book my spot?

Directly on the booking page: you choose your date, room, and options, then pay online. Your spot is confirmed immediately, and your "My Stays" area becomes available right away.

How do the deposit and installments work?

Depending on the trip, you can pay in one go or pay a deposit followed by the balance: the exact payment schedule is displayed before payment, and your My Trips area tracks each payment. We'll send you a reminder before each due date: nothing to write down, nothing to remember.

What payment methods do you accept?

Bank card (secure payment), PayPal, payment in installments via our partner Alma (2, 3, or 4 times, up to 10 times depending on the amount), Les Bornées gift cards, and even cryptocurrencies via Coinbase Commerce. Holiday vouchers are also accepted (cashed by Les Bornées association): contact us before booking to arrange payment.

Why does my registration include a membership to the association?

Our trips with accommodation are organized by the association Les Bornées: your reservation automatically includes your annual membership, which is part of the price. This makes you a member of the community, not just a customer.

What is included in the price?

Accommodation, all meals (all-inclusive), supervision, program activities, and surprises. The following remain at your expense: transport to the stay location, your personal equipment, and options (shuttle, single room, flexibility, etc.).

Why are your trips more expensive than traditional camps?

Because we prioritise quality over quantity. A €500 camp would imply 50 participants and many volunteers; with us, it's small groups, high-end all-inclusive, and every coach, service provider, and supplier is paid fairly. A unique experience with each edition: if you come back, you won't experience the same thing twice.

How to get a personalized quote?

For a family room, a non-sporting companion or an upgrade, request your quote from the trip details page or the contact page: you will receive a detailed proposal to validate online.

How can I retrieve my invoice?

In your My Stays area, click the "Get my invoice" button: price details and the invoice will be sent by e-mail.

Unforeseen events & flexibility

I have a conflict: what are my options?

Notify us in writing as soon as possible: the date your request is received is what counts. Your spot on a fixed-date trip is firm and final: without the flexibility option, withdrawal does not entitle you to any refund, regardless of the reason (that's why we offer you the option when booking!). With the flexibility option, a scale applies depending on the timeframe. You can also suggest someone to replace you (see below).

What is the flexibility option?

An optional protection that you add at the time of booking, available in two levels: the Classic flexibility option (4% of the price, you receive a credit valid for 12 months) or the Premium Refund option (8%, you are reimbursed in cash within 30 days). In case of cancellation, you receive a refund according to the delay: 100% 120 days or more before departure, 75% 90 days before, 50% 60 days before, 25% 21 days before, 10% 8 days before. Less than 8 days before departure, no coverage. The price of the option itself and certain fees (membership, additional options) are not refunded: the full details are in our General Terms and Conditions of Sale (article 12).

Can I give my spot to someone else?

Yes, you can suggest a replacement: write to us as soon as possible; the replacement must be validated by our team before the stay (level, logistics, room, and supervision must remain compatible). Potential modification fees may apply.

Can I transfer my spot to another date?

Postponement is not an automatic right: contractually, it's the flexibility option (credit or refund) that protects you. But always write to us: when a simple solution exists (replacement, credit for a future stay via the Classic option), we will work with you to find it.

I get injured before departure: what happens?

If you subscribed to the flexibility option, the scale applies according to the date (credit or refund depending on your option level). Without an option, withdrawals are not refunded, even for injury: you can, however, propose someone to replace you. A simple tip: take the option when booking; it's exactly for these tough situations that it exists.

What if you can't maintain the stay?

If the stay does not take place due to our fault (e.g., not enough participants), we will primarily offer you a postponement or a credit note; otherwise, you will be reimbursed the amounts paid within 14 days. In case of force majeure (dangerous weather, administrative decision, etc.), a postponement or equivalent credit note will be offered. Your transportation and accommodation booked elsewhere remain your responsibility: we advise you to book flexible tickets.

Can the program change during the stay?

Yes, and this is intentional: weather, safety, or the group's ability level may lead us to adjust an outing, schedule, or location. The spirit of the trip is always preserved, and safety comes first; an adapted or replaced activity will not be reimbursed.

My Space

What is my "My Stays" area for?

This is your HQ: the program, your form to fill out, your balance and due dates, your invoices, your documents to sign (release, image rights) and practical information for your stay. Everything in one place, accessible from your account.

How do I change my information?

In My Stays, your profile can be edited until departure (allergies, emergency contact, etc.). For email or password, please go through your customer account.

The shop

How do I choose my size?

Each product page includes its size guide. If you're unsure between two sizes, message us on WhatsApp with your measurements: we'll give you real advice, not just a chart.

Can I exchange or return an item?

Yes: you have 14 days after receipt to change your mind. The item must be returned complete, in its original condition, unworn and unwashed; return shipping costs are at your expense. Contact us and we will arrange the exchange or refund. And of course, you benefit from the legal guarantees (2 years) on any lack of conformity.

What are the delivery times and costs?

Delivery to a relay point is free in mainland France. An in-stock item ships within 7 business days; a pre-order is shipped on the date indicated on its product page (updated in case of production delays). You will receive tracking by e-mail.

How to receive my e-book?

Your download link will be sent to you by email immediately after purchase, and will remain accessible from your account. Any issues? Write to us and we'll resend it.

Loyalty Club & Ambassadors

How does Les Bornées Club work?

Our loyalty program is free: each purchase earns you points, valid for 24 months, which determine your status (Burgundy, Silver, Gold, Platinum) and its benefits, re-evaluated every December 31. Your balance, your status, and what you need for the next level are in your account, in the Club Les Bornées area. Referrals also pay off! All conditions are on the dedicated program page.

How do you become an ambassador? What are Watts?

The Ambassador program rewards you with Watts ⚡ for everything you radiate: your content, your outings, your runs in Les Bornées colors. The counter on the homepage displays the Watts generated by the community live. To join the adventure: click the "Apply" button on the homepage.

I represent a brand or organize a race: who should I talk to?

We have an entire page for you: "Brands & Races" (in the menu). Activations on stays, UGC Studio, race bibs honored by our ambassadors: everything is there, with a dedicated form and appointment scheduling.
