Triathlon equipment: the essentials to pack for your first training camp

Going on a triathlon camp is a unique experience: total immersion in the discipline, rapid progress, an inspiring atmosphere... and a bag to pack that can quickly turn into a headache. Three sports, three sets of equipment, unpredictable weather: we understand why you'd want a cheat sheet.
The golden rule is simple: everything you prepare beforehand means less stress once you're there. A camp involves several sessions a day, alternating between swimming, cycling, and running. Well-equipped, you can participate in everything without unexpected issues, train safely, and save your energy for what matters most: progressing and enjoying yourself.
So here, discipline by discipline, is what you need to pack for your first camp, told as if we were preparing it together.
For swimming: light, but don't forget anything
Start with the basics: your swimsuit or trisuit, goggles adapted to the light (clear for the pool, tinted for full sun), and a swim cap, with a spare because a cap always tears at the worst moment. If the water is expected to be cold, a wetsuit becomes your best friend, and those sensitive to cold ears should remember earplugs.
Add a towel or swim poncho, a waterproof bag for wet gear, and the winning duo of sunscreen and anti-chafing stick. Your neck will thank you after the third open water session.
For cycling: mechanics first, style second
The non-negotiable point: a bike serviced before departure. Brakes, tires, lubricated chain: ten minutes of checking will prevent a breakdown on your first ride. An approved helmet is mandatory, everywhere, all the time. Bring your shoes and cleats, one or two water bottles, and a complete repair kit: inner tube, pump, multi-tool, and quick link.
For clothing, opt for technical shorts and a jersey that you feel comfortable in, a windbreaker vest or jacket depending on the weather, gloves if mornings are chilly, and sunglasses or photochromic glasses. If you want to ride in an outfit that's as beautiful as it is high-performing, our Made in Italy technical collection was designed precisely for that. A GPS computer and lights complete the kit if departures are early.
For running: comfort above all
